- The Data Protection Act 1998 (DPA) was updated in 2018. Alongside this is new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which came into force on May 25th 2018.
- For schools, the GDPR brings a new responsibility to inform parents and stakeholders about how they are using pupils’ data and who it is being used by.
- It also brings about new requirements around how we store and protect all data we hold.
- Schools will have a legal duty to comply with the GDPR. We have updated our Privacy Policies and created a new GDPR Policy to outline how we abide by these regulations.
Security Breach
If any item containing potentially sensitive, protected or confidential data about a child or member of staff at Avenue is lost or stolen, we have a duty to report this as a security breach. Please inform a member of SLT immediately and then complete the form below. Our Data Protection Officer (DPO) will then make a decision as to whether this security breach is also a data breach and will advise us on our next course of action.
